Routes of Administration and Effects

Administration: 

Common routes include oral ingestion, insufflation (snorting), or injection.

Dosage and Effects:

  • SC or IM: 5-30 mg

  • PO: 12.5-50 mg

  • Duration: 4 hours

Main Effects: Euphoria, pain relief, and relaxation, similar to other opioids. 

Adverse Effects: Severe respiratory depression is the main danger, leading to potential overdose or death, especially at high doses or in combination with other depressants. Other risks include drowsiness, confusion, dizziness, nausea, and sedation.
